Hi, I'm Yeoni Ssaem!
Iâm a certified Korean teacher, born and raised in South Korea, with a deep passion for sharing my language and culture with others. Over the years, Iâve had the pleasure of teaching over 300 students from all around the world.
Whether in the lively classrooms of language schools in London or through personalized lessons as an independent instructor, I've dedicated myself to helping students achieve their language goals. My approach to teaching is rooted in patience, creativity, and a genuine love for seeing my students succeed. COURSE CONTENT
The course is designed for English speakers. Because English and Korean are very different languages, I explain things in English for most of the course so that you can understand the main concepts more easily, and the transition to Korean smoother and easier to understand.
No previous knowledge of the language is required.
The beginner's course is designed for those who are starting from scratch, which is why it starts from the absolute basics. We'll start by learning the Korean alphabet, and even if you already know how to read it, this is a great chance to refine your pronunciation, discover useful tips, and practice through engaging exercises.
MODULES 1&2:Â Welcome to Your Korean Language Journey
In the first module, we will start with a warm welcome and an introduction to the course, where you'll learn about who I am and what you can expect from the lessons ahead. Moving into the second module, we'll dive into the foundational aspects of the Korean language, beginning with the basic vowels and consonants. You'll also learn about double consonants and diphthongs, and by the end of this module, you'll be able to form and pronounce single syllables.
MODULES 5&6: Talking About Family and Everyday Objects
In Module 5, you'll learn how to talk about your family in Korean, covering key vocabulary for family members. We'll explore subject marking particles (ě´/ę°) and the negative form "ě´ ěëë¤" to help you form basic sentences about your family. In Module 6, weâll focus on everyday objects, starting with common nouns and expressions like "this one" or "that one." Youâll learn how to use "ěë¤" (there is) and "ěë¤" (there isn't) to describe the presence of objects, along with various location words to talk about where things are.
COURSE STRUCTURE
This video shows what the course, videos and additional materials look like.
The course is divided into 14 sections, containing more than 85 video lessons and exercises. I recommend watching the sessions in order, as the courses offer a sequential and logical learning path.
Remember that you can always go back and watch the lessons as often as needed.
All videos are in FULL HD and you can adjust the speed, audio and quality.
In all my videos, I try to use as many visual elements as possible, such as pictures, tables, and graphs. At the same time, you can also see me talking directly to you, making the lessons as engaging and entertaining as possible.
During the course, you will also find many exercises and PDFs, which will allow you to practice at the end of each lesson!
