Hi, I'm Yeoni Ssaem!

I’m a certified Korean teacher, born and raised in South Korea, with a deep passion for sharing my language and culture with others. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching over 300 students from all around the world.

Whether in the lively classrooms of language schools in London or through personalized lessons as an independent instructor, I've dedicated myself to helping students achieve their language goals. Every lesson is an opportunity to not only learn the language but also to experience the rich cultural tapestry of Korea.

Vidya

I have enjoyed every class with Yeoni Ssaem a lot. Learning was made easy, and she always made time for questions, explanations, and discussion and encouraged me to speak as much as possible in Korean!

Michael

Yeoni Ssaem has been nothing but a lovely teacher! So pleasant and very patient and understanding with the students. I had the pleasure of being taught by Yeoni Ssaem for an entire year, completing level 3 Korean.

COURSES CONTENT

The courses are designed for English speakers. Because English and Korean are very different languages, I explain things in English for most of the courses so that you can understand the main concepts more easily, and the transition to Korean smoother and easier to understand.

No previous knowledge of the language is required.

The beginner's courses are designed for those who are starting from scratch, which is why they start from the absolute basics. We'll start by learning the Korean alphabet, and even if you already know how to read it, this is a great chance to refine your pronunciation, discover useful tips, and practice through engaging exercises.

Everyday Korean: Introducing Practical Communication Skills

As the A1 course progresses, learners build upon their reading skills by moving into practical topics such as meeting people, talking about family, and expressing preferences. Modules dedicated to essential interactions, like asking for items or discussing daily activities, prepare students to navigate everyday situations in Korean-speaking environments. Key phrases like “please give me” (주세요) and expressions for likes and dislikes ensure learners have the language they need for basic social exchanges. By the end of the A1 course, students can hold simple conversations, making them well-prepared to interact with native speakers in practical settings.
